For one of my electives in my final year of university, I had a final project called ‘Parallel Worlds’ the final project was to make promotional material based on a book chosen from a given selection. I chose William Gibson’s ‘Pattern Recognition’ 

To research I read the whole book and wrote notes on the themes and reoccurring ideas, and any imagery/ideas that stood out to me. 
After finishing the book I had a very vivid and consistent idea on a tone and direction to take this project. 

I came up with a very science fiction, dark, edgy, early 2000s noir tone. 
Then brainstormed some ideas and created 3 final images based on this tone.
